What material is best for a reusable stencil?

1mm mylar for most painting jobs. It is flexible, tough, wipes clean and lies flat, including large floor stencils. Use 3mm acrylic for hundreds of repeat uses.

Can you cut a stencil from my logo?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send an SVG, AI, EPS, DXF or PDF and we cut it as drawn. A PNG or JPG can be traced to vector for a small fee with a proof before cutting.

What are bridges, and do I need them?

Accepted Answer

Bridges are small ties that hold the centre of closed letters like O and A in place. Every stencil needs them. We add them and confirm the layout before cutting.

What is the smallest detail you can cut?

Accepted Answer

Around 1.5mm on mylar and about 2mm on 3mm acrylic. Finer than that and the stencil is too fragile for repeat use.

How big can a stencil be?

Accepted Answer

Up to 1200 x 850mm in one piece. Larger stencils are cut in interlocking sections with alignment marks so they line up on site.

Question 6

Do you cut PVC or vinyl stencils?

Accepted Answer

No. We never laser cut PVC or chlorine-based plastics. Mylar and acrylic do the same job safely.

How fast can I get one and can you deliver?

Accepted Answer

Most stencils are ready in 2 to 3 working days. Collect in Dublin 12 by appointment or we deliver anywhere in Ireland.
