Question 1

Do you sell road-legal number plates?

Accepted Answer

No. We supply the raised acrylic letters and digits only. We do not supply or certify finished road-use registration plates.

Question 2

Are 3D and 4D number plate characters legal in Ireland?

Accepted Answer

The finished plate has to meet the Irish rules if it is used on a public road. Because we supply characters only, the customer is responsible for checking the finished plate's font, size, spacing, background and format.

Question 3

What is the difference between 3D and 4D characters?

Accepted Answer

Both terms describe raised characters standing proud of the surface. We make them one way: solid 3mm black acrylic characters with flat tops and sharp polished edges.

Question 4

How thick are the raised characters?

Accepted Answer

3mm only, cut from solid black acrylic.

Question 5

Do you supply the white plate as well?

Accepted Answer

No. The white plate or display panel is not included. You receive the raised black acrylic characters for fitting to your own plate or panel.

Question 6

What sizes do you make?

Accepted Answer

We cut to the character height and measurements you provide, from single replacement characters to full registration-style text sets and display wording.

Question 7

How are the characters attached?

Accepted Answer

The characters are supplied loose and ready for fitting. Use an adhesive suitable for your own plate material and follow the adhesive maker's instructions.

Question 8

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

Most character sets are ready in 2 to 4 working days. Collect in Dublin 12 by appointment or we post nationwide.
